ENGINE DYNO TUNING SERVICE EFI Holden or LS1/2

After many phone calls and requests by customers who find it difficult to find tuning facilities for newly built engines, we are making our Engine Dyno services available particularly for the late model Holden V8, V6 and LS Chev style engines. We all know the story. You build a new engine, the best parts, it goes together very well, all tolerances measure up fine but you can't get it to run correctly. We've always warned customers purchasing our parts only, unassembled engines or using our machinework services that starting and running a newly built engine is not a game. It can be an expensive disaster. We don't recommend the use of a chassis dyno (rear wheel dayno) to run in an engine and tune it. If you have no choice but to use a tuner who uses only a chassis or rear wheel dyno, ask them for a baseline conservative tune. Drive the car for at least 1000 kms on the road and change oil and filter several times during this initial bed in period. Take the car back to your trusted tuner and then let them complete the tuning job on an engine that has had a chance to bed in and loosen up before being thrashed on a chassis dyno. We prefer however to run in and tune engines on our engine dyno because we can control engine and oil temperatures 100%, obtain real world power and torque curves at the flywheel like the car manufacturers all do and equally importantly, it any problems show up you don't have to pull the engine back out of the car to fix it. You nip it in the bud there and then, tune it correctly once and for all and drop it into the car confident all will be OK.

Our Engine Dyno run in and tune service takes 2 days. We run in partially, replace oil and filter after initial bed in, tune software and download to your computer or onto your original computer chip all for...$1650.00 with total piece of mind. NOTE: We provide this service only for normally aspirated engines or boost engines without boost setups fitted to provide a safe run in before applying boost.

We receive many calls every day from trade as well as do it yourselfer engine builders about the lack of a good local mchineshop to carry out precision machining on cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, crankshafts, con rods, camshafts and other engine components. Remember that the attention to detail in final component machining is the difference between a long life engine with a minimum of internal friction and capable of making maximum power potential due to accurately mated or blueprinted components. No matter how much money you spend on parts they become worthless very quickly if the cylinder block, cylinder heads or other home for these parts is not accurately machined.

DRAG RACE CAR FOR SALE...

We are offering for sale our 1996 Pro Stock Oldsmobile Cutlass race car. We are tired of waiting for a new and viable Drag Race track to appear here in Melbourne and as such have decided to sell the wonderful Olds Cutlass we campaigned successfully till 2001. The car held the A/AP Australian record for over 5 years and would still be totally competitive in Competition Eliminator A/APM class today. It will run under the index in this class (below 7.20's @ over 193 mph) at any good track. The car was built brand new by world renowned U.S chassis builder Jerry Haas, has done no more than 200 passes from brand new and has been updated in late 2006 with the latest wheels, tyres, newest state of the art Lamb Struts and brakes, Jerry Haas rear anti roll bar, latest wheelie bars from Haas as well as brand new dual Stroud Pro Stock chutes. 440ci LS1 Piledriver

Want maximum capacity out of your LS1 equipped vehicle. Our 440ci version is a lot of engine for any application. These big engines are quite tractable even with large camshafts, big inductions and high compression ratios. We offer the 440's in power levels from a mild 550 bhp (410kw) version for exceptional daily use manners up to very radical versions for more extreme owners. This version shown here was built for a customer who named the engine for us...the PILEDRIVER! Still a very tractable but powerful version with typical moderately rough idle, pump 98 octane fuel capability and torque to rival a Mack Truck.

The Piledriver version has CNC ported GM Performance parts heads with final intake port volume size of close to 280cc's. True Big Block numbers with air flow to match. Over 11.5:1 compression ratio, our latest design LSCH-945 camshaft with 245/257 degrees @.050" intake/exhaust, .560" lift and ground on 114 degree lobe centres. This like all our LS1 style grinds do not sacrifice power and torque output for smooth valve train action and quiet operation. The bottom end features a brand new GM alloy 427 (7 litre)LS7 cylinder block that has been fully prepped and fitted with our 4340 forged steel 4.100" stroke crank, our latest design 6.1" "H" beam 4340 steel con rods and custom made Diamond Racing forged pistons and rings. The top end is completed with GM's latest L92 square port intake and our own custom made billet alloy 95mm throttle body.

The Piledriver is not cheap at a baseline $25,000 (depending on outright or changeover) but with 626 bhp (467 kws)@ 6000 rpm and 594 ft.lbs torque (805nm)@5200 rpm in a very driveable and still fuel efficient combination, you would be hard pressed to find better value for money in the "big" engine stakes. No blowers, intercoolers, turbos, plumbing or headaches here. The toughest parts in an engine swap that ends up looking like a stock LS1 and in fact is physically identical in all dimensions so fits straight in anywhere you had an LS1 or LS2. With a 2750 rpm torque figure of 468 ft.lbs you can forget about needing stiffer diff ratios or hi stall torque converters.

Both the Piledriver 440 and the fantastic Sledgehammer 427 are both also available in components only packages for those wishing to assemble and build their own versions. A fully prepped LS7 block is $5500.00, 427 crank kits start at $3100.00, 440 crank kits with the best parts are $4500.00, GM Performance parts heads fully prepped for the 427 are $3500.00 including the special offset intake rocker arms required. The CNC ported 440ci versions of these heads are $5000.00 fully prepared. The matching intake manifold, fuel rails injectors and billet 90mm throttle body induction package is $4500.00 to suit the 427ci Sledgehammer. The same induction package for the Piledriver 440ci engine with fully port matched intake runners to suit the CNC ported heads and our custom billet 95mm throttle body is $6500.00 Our matching camshafts are only $550.00 You have a choice of over 50 grinds.

To compliment the full range of 4.2 litre stroker kits, engines, cylinder heads and camshafts we manufacture for the popular Holden Ecotec V6's...announcing the arrival of our Twin Throttle Body intake plenum assembly for the Ecotec engine.

This plenum is a direct replacement for the original top plenum incorporating provision for all factory sensors, throttle cable, fuel rails, intake piping. It is a very quick and easy bolt on to the original factory manifold base. Fitting time is less than one hour and the results are incredible even on stock or mildly modified 3.8 litre engines. Our intake plenum features a billet alloy dual 58mm throttle body, increased plenum volume with a beautifully designed zero restriction inlet flange mating precisely to the plenum housing itself. Also included is a very efficient intake snorkel which bolts directly to the billet throttle body and is designed for maximum air flow potential and to hook up to stock intake piping to the production or any aftermarket air box systems.

This complete plenum assembly with billet throttle body, intake snorkel, accelerator cable bracket is $1750.00 making it a fantastic value for money easy bolt on. The results even with stock engines is over 10% torque gains right through the rpm range with more significant gains on modified engines, strokers and boost applications. Unlimited possibilities abound and finally the Ecotec engine is allowed to make power to its full potential.

ROBBERY! Last Friday the 23rd November we had one individual break into our premises and steel 3 notebook computers (a Dell Latitude, LG computer and a Gateway), a Nikon digital camera and several other items of value. A significant amount of damage was done by this person to gain entry but fortunately our security system protected the premises from a much worse outcome. If anyone has any information regarding this person's activities, or is offered any items similar to these we are offering a very substantial reward for information leading to the recovery of the items or/and information leading to the arrest of this person. He is a caucasion male, about late 20's in age, short hair, clean shaven, approximately 180cm tall medium build was wearing a navy coloured track suit pant and top outfit. Any calls regarding this will be treated in the strictest confidence.

LS1 427ci Crate motor

With the enormous popularity of the LS1/LS2 V8's in modern Commodore model cars, the demand for readily available "big" capacity powerplants is growing at a very rapid rate. This example shown here on our dyno is bound for a customer with a VZ model Monaro. The engine is one of our typical "daily driver" 427ci (7 litre) engines featuring brand new LS7 GM alloy block, big port GM Performance Parts cylinder heads and matching factory intake. The heads are brand new also and feature our best "COME125" conical valve springs and chrome moly steel ratainers, a full 3 angle valve seat job and with flow figures just over 660 bhp potential it's no wonder this conservative streetable combination produces 583 bhp @ 5750 rpm and 570 ft.lbs torque @ 5000 rpm. Best part of course is this engine makes a whopping 468 ft.lbs torque as low as 2750 rpm. An insane driving experience in anyones book and importantly with incrediblly smooth street manners only a big engine can provide.

This is the best way to increase torque and power of a stock right though to fully built Ecotec V6. Ideal for strokers and boost applications as well. Comes complete with throttle cable bracket to use OEM factory cable. Machined to accept all original sensors including TPS, Idle air etc. Also inclueds a great cast alloy intake snorkel to allow hookup to stock or aftermarket MAF and air box ducting. The snorkel has additional material cast into it to allow internal boring for much larger intake entry size. This is especially useful for the strokers, boost engines and highly modified 3.8 V6's. Our Twin Throttle body is a tried and proven design with dual 58mm bores made from the best grade of billet aluminium available. The best part actually is that the original factory engine cover fits with only minor modifications so no one needs to know what is lurking under the bonnet. The complete manifold plenum is...$1750.00 This is a bargain based on a minimum of 20kw power gain and even more torque low down, mid range as well as up top than a stock intake sutup. It bolts on directly onto your original factory intake runner base in 1/2 an hour or so.

4) NEW! Our latest expanded range of LS1/LS2/LS7 hydraulic roller camshafts continues to grow. Will at least another 10 new grinds ranging from 228 degrees @.050" duration up to 275 degrees duration @.050" for the full on big capacity engines. Extensive testing has now been completed and the results are fantastic. In fact the 427ci engine shown above has a pretty mild (for the size of the engine) new grind fitted. This is our part # LSCH-936 236 degrees intake duration @.050" and 246 degrees duration @.050", .560" lift on both and ground on 114 degree lobe centres for excellent idle and broader torque spread in the bigger engines from 6 litres up. Our cams are all $660.00 and our own designed conical springs to suit including chrome moly retainers are $440.00 for both. As with all COME Racing's LS1 cams, they make the most power and torque, have the quietest valvetrain operation and will produce the longest life valvetrains of any other brands. These are facts which many Australian performance shops and engine builders have discovered over the last year or so and have switched to our products primarily because of these factors and our enormous range of real dyno and in car developed grinds. 5) Ever popular, our COME Twin Throttle body intake manifold for the Holden EFI V8's from 1989-99. This manifold has become a household name in the peformance industry and sells as fast as we can make them because they really work. We do not recommend these for stock or very mild 5 litre engines as the loss in low down torque reduces potential off the line acceleration. They are perfectly suited to the stroker engines from 355ci upwards. On typical troker engines these manifolds will increase power by a minimum of 40kw over the original single throttle body manifold. For the price of $2500.00 delivered to your door, this is really the Holden V8's performance bargain of all time. This intake is also excellent on boosted 5 litre engines or strokers. The design has no peer in the reduction of manifold air temps reducing the injector size requirements and the ability to add significantly more spark to boost throttle response and torque.

6) Traditional Small Block Chev forged 4340 steel cranks have never been cheaper! We have too many of our 383 (3.750" stroke), 400ci (3.750" stroke and 400 main size), 400ci (3.8750" stroke 400 main size), 400ci (4.00" stroke 400 main size).  A full range of LS1-LS2-LS7 short and long motors are now available from COME Racing. No more waiting months to get your original engine rebuilt or modified. From our vast range of custom built combinations from 6.3 litre to 7.2 litre you will have a huge choice of power/torque outputs to suit your real application, vehicle type and driving style.

Available in popular 383ci (6.3 litre), 408ci (6.7 litre), 427ci (7 litre) and 439ci (7.2 litre) capacities you have enormous choices from the company that makes the cranks, rods and develops the latest camshaft profiles and grinds them in house to suit every combination we develop. You are only provided with proven combinations developed right in our shop to maximise the end results you need. We use only BRAND NEW GM 6.0L cylinder blocks for our 408ci engines and BRAND NEW 4.125" bore genuine LS7 factory alloy blocks for the bigger 427ci and 439ci engine capacities. It's easier and cheaper to build the bigger capacities using longer strokes rather than bigger bores. Beware of "experts" offering these "big" engines with small bore blocks and long strokes. The large bore engines are what really produce the results in conjunction with 4.00" and 4.100" strokes.

As a complete contrast, the engine shown in the photo above is our complete 408ci S.S-1 engine combination featuring a fully built 408ci Stroker completely dyno run in and software optimised. This engine is $12,500.00 exchange for your original complete 5.7 litre LS1. It features a brand new LS2 alloy block and our Wiseco forged piston stroker kit. Power levels with this combination are from 470-530 BHP depending on cam and compression ratio choices. The real key here of course is the insane 560+ft.lbs (760 nm)torque.

Note, all the above engines are available unassembled for the do it yourselfers. All parts and machinework are included in an assemble yourself package.

Don't forget our full range of LS1 stroker kits and newly released 4340 forged steel stroker cranks for LS1's in both popular 4.00" and 4.100" strokes. These are the easiest balancing cranks on the market with internal balancing never needing the addition of expensive Mallory metal. The COME Racing Holden V8 and V6 stroker cranks and kits are the most popular in Australia by a huge margin. With great strides in production efficiencies we are now offering our cranks and kits at hugely discounted prices...PERMANENTLY. There is now no excuse for rebuilding or modifying your Holden V8 without stroking it to a 355ci or 383ci capacity. All COME cranks are fully machined on our Berco production crank grinders to maximise accuracy of journal sizes and perfect indexing to ensure journals are exactly 90 degrees apart for maximum engine smoothness and power output. You do have alternatives with other cranks on the market, some at even lower prices than ours. If you want the best quality and strongest cranks on the market and at the best prices you now have no need to go by price alone. There is also no need to compromise on buying a cheaper kit with lower power potential pistons or other such components so you cannot upgrade power safely a little down the track when you get greedy for more. All our kits for street/strip applications feature 4340 grade steel connecting rods with ARP bolts and the toughest performance pistons in the industry.
